JEAN TINGUELY – LAST COLLABORATIONS WITH YVES KLEIN

The Venet Foundation’s 2015 summer exhibition featured two important “machines” by Swiss artist Jean Tinguely: Relief bleu, an homage to Schmela (1988) from the Musée d’Art moderne et d’Art contemporain (MAMAC) in Nice; and Dernière collaboration avec Yves Klein (1988), on loan from the Tinguely Museum in Basel. A film about Jean Tinguely was screened in a dining room set up at the side of the gallery that displayed a table, eight chairs, and a hanging light created by the artist for the Tinguely Café in Kyoto, and recreated for the Venet Foundation.

Concurrently, in the Usine (Factory), works by Venet from the Collection were presented, with the focus primarily on paintings and performance pieces dating back to the 1960s.

Venet also re-imagined his Effondrement of Arcs, turning it into a 200-ton piece.
